We engineer, we don’t just build

Net Efficiency's core work is in developing web-based applications and websites on open source frameworks. We believe that the open source community creates the best possible option for clients to be able to take advantage of a huge development pool, and accelerated growth. It also means we aren’t selling a tech solution - we are here to solve business problems.

Magnifying glass

What we engineer

Platforms, websites, web applications

Our clients generally ask us to help them with a transformation of the customer journey. This might mean the end solution is a platform (serving many products), a website, a web application, or a dashboard. Our team builds the infrastructure, the software, and the user outcome.

Engineered to work.

How we design

Design for all, outcome driven

We are obsessed with user outcomes. That means creating solutions that work for everyone. We deliver elegant, easily navigable sites that can be used by anyone, anywhere. And we also design our architecture and engineer our software to the same principles.

Beauty isn’t skin deep.

Responsive design

What we build

Open source, flexible

Proven technology, intelligently designed to deliver results. We build solutions to deliver your customers the right information at the right time in the right way. We use globally adopted software, languages, and packages to accelerate development and make it sustainable.

Delivered by us, powered by many.

Our tools

To deliver our work, we use the right products and software at the right time. Amazon Web Services for fast, scalable, and green hosting. Modern PHP-based frameworks. Drupal as a large-scale CMS. Trello and Jira to manage projects and tickets. Slack to form and collaborate in teams. The phone to talk.

The wheel has been invented.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis.

Drupal is an open-source content-management framework that can be tailored and customized as your needs grow.

Drupal grows as you grow with thousands of free modules and themes that will help you attract the web audience you need to deliver your message, grow brand awareness, and build your community.

Laravel is an open-source PHP framework, which is robust and easy to understand. It follows a model-view-controller design pattern. Laravel reuses the existing components of different frameworks which helps in creating a web application. The web application thus designed is more structured and pragmatic.

TYPO3 is a free and open-source web content management system written in PHP, and is used for sites from small organizations to large corporations, and built to handle very large amounts of data and traffic.

Trello helps teams manage projects by using boards and cards to organise work flow. Everyone in the team can see the status of a task as cards move between lists to Done.

Jira is a bug and issue tracking software product and has evolved into a powerful work management tool for all kinds of uses.

Jenkins is a tool that is used for automation, and it is an open-source server that allows all the developers to build, test and deploy software.

Sass is a CSS pre-processor that helps in reducing repetition with CSS and in turn saves time.

It describes the style of a document very clearly and structurally. It helps in getting work done in a faster and better way. With all its features it is mostly preferred over CSS.

Docker is a platform for developing, shipping, and running applications. Docker enables us to separate our applications from the infrastructure so we can deliver software quickly.

Grunt is a JavaScript task runner, a tool used to automatically perform frequent tasks such as minification, compilation, unit testing, and linting.

Gulp is a task runner that uses Node.js as a platform.

Gulp purely uses the JavaScript code and helps to run front-end tasks and large-scale web applications. It builds system automated tasks like CSS and HTML minification, concatenating library files, and compiling the SASS files.

Node package manager (npm) is one of the largest software registries in the world. It comes bundled with node.js, an open-source server environment.

Who we work with

We oil the cogs

We operate at the intersection of the customer, a marketing team, and the IT department. As a result, our direct client is often a 'digital' director or a product owner. We make sure that each team is focused on the common aim (better customer outcomes) and by using web tech we transform without pain.

Maximising your investment.

Working with you

Collaborative, structured, team

Agile? Waterfall? Process? Yes, yes, yes. What matters to us is that we work with you in the way that works best for you and your team. We call it flexible working. We use standard tools to help track your progress but our clients tell us we deliver because we are part of their team.

We are your team.

Our process

Inquisitive, planned, managed

Our process cycle is part of a continuous feedback loop. From asking the difficult questions we map out how we are going to problem-solve. We'll then set out a plan to make it happen, giving you plenty of time for input, reflection, and changes. We'll organise your project in bite-sized chunks.

The circle of life.
