Fast and focused mobile websites for Autoglass ®

In 2010, we developed a mobile website for Autoglass® (m.autoglass.co.uk) to provide a user-friendly and efficiency way for customers to book windscreen repair on the go.
Mobile visits to websites are increasing exponentially. Around the launch of the mobile site, Belron®, the parent company of Autoglass®, noted that in one key market, mobile traffic had grown by 250% in the last nine months.
Built over just eight weeks, using a iterative, user-centred design process, the site creates an app-like experience (including GPS-positioning, maps, email and phone dialling) with the benefits of the mobile web – cross-platform accessibility, no app store dependencies, and quick and easy to deploy changes.
Users aren't always in range of a Wi-Fi or even 3G signal, so performance is paramount at all times, with heavily-optimised HTML, CSS and images keeping page weights to an average of 4-8kB, and below 15kB at all times.
Global rollout
Net Efficiency has since rolled out over 20 mobile websites for other businesses within the Autoglass® family, including Safelite® in the United States, Carglass® in Europe, and O'Brien® in Australia. All are built on a common TYPO3 CMS platform.
